Since 2018, FM Foundation, the corporate foundation of FM Logistic, is committed alongside the AVSI foundation in Italy, for the integration of young refugees through training aimed at their entry into the world of work.
Under the project To start again! FM Logistic and its corporate foundation collaborate with AVSI, a nonprofit non-governmental organization established in Cesena, Italy, in 1972. AVSI conducts development cooperation and humanitarian aid projects in 31 countries around the world, with a focus on education, self-discovery and human dignity.
WHAT IS THE PROJECT?
Each promotion of this program benefits about twenty refugees between the ages of 18 and 35.
It aims to create an accompanying pathway for young refugees to become aware of their own value, then to train them and integrate them into the world of work.
The program consists of language training, on general and technical skills in the logistics sector, followed by practical implementation through company internships. FM Logistic welcomes two of the beneficiaries in internship during 3 months on its sites in Italy.
The FM Foundation grant contributes to the funding of the courses given to the whole promotion, while the employees of the FM Logistic Group are involved as trainers in the logistics jobs, tutors of the beneficiaries during their internship, or project coordinators in connection with AVSI.
Restart with “To start again!”:
As its name suggests, To start again! allows its beneficiaries to restart, with a better self-esteem, and by giving them the opportunity to learn a job and to be able to support themselves by obtaining a job upon leaving their training. This was the case for all the beneficiaries of the first promotion: all found a job in logistics at the end of the program.
The project was renewed this year with a new promotion!
