This May, the month of diversity and inclusion, FM Foundation reaffirms its commitment to helping people enter the workforce by celebrating the expansion of the SKOLA programme. Already operating across 8 sites, this innovative work-based training scheme is now welcoming a new group of young people in Bully-les-Mines.

A practical pathway to employment with France Travail

FM Foundation simply wishes to contribute to equal opportunities by facilitating access to the world of work. The SKOLA programme, run in partnership with Les Apprentis d’Auteuil, perfectly illustrates this mission: jointly building a direct pathway to employment for young people aged 18 to 29 who are distanced from the labour market. This success is based on close collaboration with France Travail, which plays a vital role in identifying beneficiaries, as well as with partner training organisations providing the essential technical foundation.

Rather than limiting itself to financial support, FM Logistic transforms its platforms into genuine training centres. By making our facilities and our employees’ professional expertise available, we enable participants to link theoretical training to the practical realities of the workplace. The results are tangible: in the latest cohort in Aisne, 8 out of 10 young people were offered a fixed-term contract.

Bully-les-Mines joins the programme

The highlight of this spring is the inclusion of a fourth region in the scheme. A new group of 12 young people has just begun their logistics training programme there.

This initiative thus joins the collective momentum already underway in the Oise, Aisne and Loiret regions. On the ground, our staff are actively involved by acting as mentors to pass on their expertise, guide these future talents and ensure their long-term integration into the workforce.

By 2025, this commitment will have enabled 44 young people to escape precarious circumstances by obtaining a vocational qualification.

A human and social investment

Through skills-based sponsorship, our teams offer personalised support that makes a real difference. This includes mentoring sessions to break down isolation, mock interviews to rebuild confidence, and the CACES certification to acquire a sought-after technical skill.

By developing these local hubs, FM Foundation aims to strengthen local links between the business world and the voluntary sector. This local presence enables us to provide close support for young people’s career paths and to contribute, alongside specialist organisations, to the fight against exclusion.
